Hi Guys,
I have recently acquired a hoover 1346 and was wondering if anyone on the site has a set or spare set) of tools for this model that they may consider selling to me. I have searched ebay but to no avail.

any help would be greatly appreciated

One thing I suppose I should mention is to go around as many vac repair shops as you can, one place in Colne (Lancashire), where I used to live, the fella said he had a couple of sets of Junior tools, though at the time I wasn't interested in acquiring them, so you never know, there may be a repair shop hanging on to such things waiting for someone to buy them... :)

Come up on ebay all the time and usually for modest cost.

So it was YOU who put in that ridiculous maximum bid :P. Glad to see it's gone to a good home

sorry, were we bidding against each other?

Been trying to get a junior in good condition for a long time.

I'm not very good at repair jobs so wanted one that was in good condition, i know most guys on here are able to restore old vacs but I'm no good at that.

Sorry :)

David

Don't worry about David, I'm glad it's gone to a good home :). I understand completely - I'm the same. I'm a whiz at cleaning up the body of old machines and I can do minor repairs. Ask me to do something with a motor and you've no chance lol.

I use T-Cut on all my machines to remove scuffs and light scratches, then use either standard furniture polish on a plastic machine to buff it up or car wax on a painted metal machine.

There's also this stuff called Micromesh, which apparently works wonders on plastics:

On ebay right now - these look to be in excellent condition, if they have been used at all.

Yes, they will fit the 1346, thats why I posted the link in the first place ....

Never mind about this auction, they come up plenty of times, indeed there is at least one used hose as part of a much wider selection of used tools - but the adaptors included in that lot are of the earlier type and are not compatable.

Mick - are you completely loopy?
You are entirely at liberty to place a competing bid and to set your maximum at whatever you want - ebay is a public forum and it is your right to bid as you wish - but why on earth did you disclose what your maximum bid is? Do you not realise than any one on ebay can log in, bid up to £99.99 so as not to exceed your max. so you end up paying £100 for a set of tools which are by no means rare - even in this condition.

Oh ye of little faith. Have you seen the condition of the parts? From the photo supplied it does look like a set that has been well kept - and even the box isn't that bad. I don't think the bid price is that bad - someone wants it, and it may not receive as many bids.

Post# 172607 , Reply# 19   3/9/2012 at 05:44 (4,422 days old) by hoovermanmick ()

yep see what happens

Post# 172619 , Reply# 20   3/9/2012 at 09:36 (4,422 days old) by juniorsenior ()

You shouldnt have disclosed your max bid. what if the seller is on this forum, and another thing is that someone could easily up their maximum bid knowing what yours is.
The attachments do appear on Ebay quite regularly, i got a 1346A in good condition that came with tools for a total of £21 a few months back, its just your luck.

Post# 172635 , Reply# 21   3/9/2012 at 12:45 (4,422 days old) by juniorsenior ()

Well i dont know whats going on but those tools are sitting at £200 on Ebay

Post# 172646 , Reply# 22   3/9/2012 at 13:16 (4,422 days old) by jakesvacs ()

Makes me want to sell my set!
Why on Earth is it at £200.02, You could get a whole new vacuum for that, with onboard tools! Them junior tool sets always show up on ebay!

Post# 172648 , Reply# 23   3/9/2012 at 13:17 (4,422 days old) by ziggyzig ()

I can't believe they are now sat at £200 - did't think that they were so sought after.......

At that price I can perhaps do without lol

Post# 172649 , Reply# 24   3/9/2012 at 13:20 (4,422 days old) by jakesvacs ()

You wait, come a couple of weeks time there will be ones on there cheap as chips, always happens!
There is also listings on ebay with juniors with tools, also auctions with people selling bulk attachments for vintage/retro vacuums. You could ask them to sell it seperatly or do the waiting game. Good things come to those who wait...
Love your hoover in the pic Ziggyzig!

Post# 172650 , Reply# 25   3/9/2012 at 13:23 (4,422 days old) by juniorsenior ()

I have a feeling these tools might be relisted again.

Post# 172654 , Reply# 26   3/9/2012 at 13:36 (4,422 days old) by jakesvacs ()

Me too, same with that hoover cylinder that always goes high!
I swear people just bid for the fun of it, realise they dont have the money and abandon mission!

Post# 172655 , Reply# 27   3/9/2012 at 13:53 (4,422 days old) by juniorsenior ()

Yes i think that could be one of those cases but Mick shouldnt have disclosed his max bid because all it takes is for someone who maybe didnt like that comment to go on and and bid £99.99 out of badness so that he would have to pay £100 for the attachments.

Post# 172656 , Reply# 28   3/9/2012 at 13:57 (4,422 days old) by hoovermanmick ()

Thats what i was saying Mick you shouldnt have revealed your intentions for bidding.

Is ebay that place where everyone who's anyone watches the auctions and bids at the last moment (subject to two novices not having thrashed it out for the duration and taking the bidding to new heights)? Or am I getting confused with something else altogether.

I've seen my step-daughter do that last minute bidding thing. It's the only way she stands a chance of getting anything for a reasonable price.

Yes VR, you know what EBAY is =- Im pretty sure anyway!

I'm surprised the listing was increased TBH - and I bet someone has contacted the seller saying that the tools are pretty rare etc.

There's nothing stopping anyone from actually contacting the seller and asking why the price is so expensive. Mention the fact that you could USE ESPARES to get the same amount of tooling and the seller may well baulk. I would be most surprised to find if anyone buys a Junior tool kit at £200.
