I'll very soon have at least 2 Electrolux 500 series machines. The one downstairs still has it's official hose, but the one arriving soon is missing it and I will need another hose for upstairs.

I have seen OEM spares on a couple websites, though a number of them no longer stock it, and those that do are quite expensive.

I have seen just the machine end connector though, and I have a rather battered hose from an electrolux cylinder. I could use that if the machine end connector they sell would fit it, but I have no idea how it would fix on. I was able to prise off the 3-lug connector on it (but not without wrecking said connector), would the bit that clicks into that click into the 500 series machine end or is it a case of cutting the hose and attaching it somehow?

If it's much of a hastle I'd rather get the entire hose, really. It would just be a lot cheaper if I only had to buy the connector ;)

Just look on ebay. They come up all the time. Hoses, fittings, you name it.

I've seen the odd hose pop up here and there on ebay too, it's like fishing, it just takes a bit of time and patience to catch the right one... :)

The last time I bought a Z500 hose was last year in Edinburgh from The Vacuum Exchange shop in Edinburgh. Phone them on 0131 554 5050 - they may be able to send you one in the post!

That is a great shop, I love the stuff he has on the walls and the old Juniors on display.
