Nice. My favorite classic Dirt Devil Vacuum was the Broom Vac. This is when Dirt devil was high quality, made in the USA.

Made in U.S.A. Dirt Devils...

are amazing vacuums. My 13 yr old Dirt Devil MVP swivel Glide deep cleans far better than my Oreck or Dyson. I recall seeing a white version of that model once too.

I liked those older Dirt Devil machines. I had a toy version of that vacuum, but it didn't last long at all. I sucked up cereal with the hose and it broke and had to be taken back to the store!

We had these in the UK. I can't think what the model name was and I didn't know it was clean-fan. The more popular model here was the Eclipse. However, they had lots and lots of issues with the fans shattering and dirt chambers breaking in the process. The last model of this cleaner was a clean-fan design. I never got to see the insides of one as no one ever bought me one into my shop to repair.

As far as I remember - we got the bagless "Swivel" in 2007 in the form of the Vax Turboforce 1700 before TTI fully took over and merged with Hoover & Dirt Devil U.S I recall it was very noisy and the swivel castors at the back did little to help it move better. Still, I also recall it was not badly made for the price.

I still have two of these.

The original red 7amp and a black/red graphics 12amp deluxe. The extra power on the black one caused the front cover to cave in if you were using the hose and blocked the end with your hand or if their was a clog. With time it developed little stretch marks from where the front caved in! Still, both work great for 25+yrs. old machines! Also have an MVP Swivel and I just want to alert owners of this model to be careful when locking the machine in the upright position. The part that holds it upright broke on mine and until I find the part I have to lean it up against the wall. They may have fixed that but it was a problem with the early models. My MVP was only about a week old when I rescued it from the dumpster. A neighbor bought it to clean her apt. as she was moving. I don't know if she threw it away because of the handle lock broke or if when she pitched it in the dumpster it broke.Either way she wasn't taking it with her due to limited space in her car! Great vac. aside from that! I also have I believe a first edition broom vac. It is a shake out model. If they have a conversion kit for a top fill inner bag I'm going to go that way soon! Sorry for the novel! Billy

feels great to be back !! and as for writing novels lool i dont mind tbh i write novels all the time when it comes to vacuums, i can go on and on and on, but as for the upright they are quite a unique clean air machine too, i also bought a deluxe with the black and red graphics like your talking about not too long ago, but the problem your talking about with the cover caving in, yea well it has a crack there where it does cave in, and its quite a nasty one too, however i havent tried UV resin yet, which seems like itll do the trick pronto, just cures with a little UV light and your set. Luckly too, my upright's and deluxe's release latch havent broken, so thanks for the tip! i will put it into effect, cant wait to show more vacuums ive gotten too! Thanks Billy!

After I had responded to this post,

I saw your other thread and clicked on the link and did the same. Same day, I wondered if it would post there or here. I know they usually list them in the order of the most recent reply. I've forgotten to check the dates on some that I reply to and then later notice it was originally posted 12-15 yrs ago and I'm like ooops, wonder if they're still around or if this is even relevant to them anymore!Lol!
