I have a Kirby heritage II vaccum cleaner along with the rug renovator. the rug renovator has always worked fine in the past but when I went to use it today it would not suds the carpet and when it would it would just be a spot here and a spot there. not like it used to. I would leave it in one spot for a while to see if that would help but it wouldn't. now my carpet looks like a zebra with white stripes. can anyone help or do I need to invest in a new carpet cleaner. I love kirby and would never think about owning another brand.

Have you checked to make sure the "Suds screen" (over which the hose to the tray connects to the tank) is intact? If that's broken or is missing, then you just need to replace that... :)

You can get the screen and the sponge air filter here for relatively little money (aswell as any other spares you may need):
