I absolutely love how low the nozzle is on these old convertibles. I am getting spots that my $600 Simplicity could never reach. |

No, the replacement has two rows of brushes instead of the beater bar. I have put the original brushroll on but I am not sure that it is doing any better. |

I bought my mom a brand new hoover model 70 and she had medium pile shag carpet. No problems using it on the normal setting at all. Also I have tried the brush roll you are talking about and it will stall or make the motor sound different in my model 70. It also did not handle the nap of my carpet very well and I have low pile plush carpet. I was fortunate enough to find a genuine hoover brush roll on Ebay a while back, which works great in my model 70.
