I was given a free ticket to a home and garden show at our local arena. As I was perusing the area, I cam upon an Electrolux demonstration. They were showing a new "Lux" machine as well as uprights. On the wall was a big poster of ALL the machines up to now. I saw all of the cleaners that y'all love so much.He was making a big pitch to a woman, "If you buy this TODAY for $1300.00, I'll throw in an air purifier, valued at $500. You'll never buy another vacuum again". She replied, "Hm I already spent $500.00 on a Dyson. I'll have to think about it". He looked at me and said, "What about YOU, sir"? I replied, "Sorry, I work for HOOVER", but, I enjoyed your sales demo". He replied, "Opps, sorry". I don't really work for HOOVER, but, I should have.
Just thought I'd share. The new white plastic was very reminiscent of the old ones.

I wish I could think of things like that to say.

I need to be as quick with my whits as you! Great retort!

Every year we go to a similar event and the trusty Aerus man/woman is there. I really like Aerus vacuums, but the whole gimiky, will throw this in, make a deal now vibe is not for me.

Why can't you just buy a box of bags and they will just throw in the vacuum as an added bonus?

Johnathan

We'd all love to see that chart! It's not available on the web, is it?

Rememberr the old 'Lux place out here had such a chart on the wall and a small one on the counter.Kinda like the charts of old Compacts-TriStars and Kirbys.they too had charts of their older machines.Quite handy-surprized it isn't on the web somewhere.

That's it, bigger than life on the wall. I must admit, I have had to run 2 of them in my life. One was at the rectory, the other belongs to a friend. He had recently undergone a colostomy, and I offered to clean his house. He had to "go and change his bag". I changed the LUX bag as well. It was acting up on me. NEXT time I cleaned the house, I came armed with a Convertible 70 (Delft Blue) He was aghast! I reminded him that I was doing this out of the kindnes of my tiny, little heart (like the Grinch, it's 4 times too small) {luckily, the ONLY organ involved in THAT}. Imagine I had to look at TWO bags that day.
I still have, for sale, the Electrolux GOLD polisher, I think it went with the anniversary canister. I know: I'm horrible.......te he
