The Wertheim is on Best Direct TV - check or Ideal shopping I think. If you can find the UK website I'm sure you can watch the videos about it. I'm impressed but not with the noise or the weight of it.

Never mind the Wertheim though - I just spotted a massive bargain - Miele S7 brand new S7210 has been reduced from £270 to £159-99 at Argos product code 406/5450. You could visit a John Lewis store to do a trial run of it before you even buy.

If you have pets Id definately go for the S7 - Also comes with a pet hair turbo brush according to Argos!

Under NO CIRCUMSTANCES...

Should you buy one. I used to sell them here in Australia... very cheap construction, high cost, flimsy wands, all the plastic connections crack. They had to recall the wands here in Australia because more than one customer got shocked by exposed contacts from melting.

Go for a Miele or Sebo

If you can get hold of a sebo upright I think you would be happy with it. Don't get me wrong, I like miele's, but sebo spares are A LOT cheaper. The X series are lighter than the upright Miele and the pick up is great..

Yep Sebo's are greater but not at £159-99 - you can't even get a new Sebo X upright at that price! What a pity Argos don't sell the X4 anymore, I'm sure they'd have done a price reduction like that.

Hoovermanmick - if you prefer a canister or cylinder vacuum - the SEBO D2 Total is better value than the Miele S5 Cat n Dog plus you get a lot more cable, bigger dust capacity bags and cheaper running costs.

Oh, there's the SEBO X4 reduced in price to £215-99 at Dixons and also at Amazon.

not the werthiem

please dont buy the wertheim what a pile of poo i saw it on ideal world last year and bought the 4412 it broke within 2 weeks the cable rewind went the hepa filter kept popping off the machine, then i was left without a machine for 6 months after it was picked up for repair and was lost, was replaced at christmas witha 4430 already been away for repair and already had 3 new powerheads, they are crap made by TTI in china i understand that in australia and new zealand years ago they used to be made by electrolux and were really good but now they are TTI i wouldnt touch them mine is now at the back of the cupboard and i been using my tristar for the last week which if anyone is intrested is up for sale its like it was when i bought back in 2002 its only been used a handfull of times but its a very good machine for animal hair
