I've seen two 1970s shop vacs. One is at my local Habitat Restore. It's a metal drum with wheels and is dark green. It has blower and suction ports on top of the drum and a big hose. Toggle switch and non-grounded cord. It says Super Vac on the side and was made in Hackensack NJ by Shop Vac.
My grandparents also have a red metal one with a plastic top/motor housing. Suction/blower ports on the front. It had a plastic dolley but it broke as well as the hose. That one is branded Montgomery Ward. |

I think someone on here has the blue and white Shop Vac. Maybe they can post a photo.
The Habitat Restore is in central Florida. Maybe there's one in your area. They seem to be the best for old vacuums, at least here. Also I saw a metal blue/white shop vac tank there the other day but it was just the tank, no top or wheels. |

If you look at the early work of Jeff Koons if a Shop Vac is in a plexiglass box it becomes museum quality art.(Also Hoover) |
