Do belts wear when not in use ? |

I have 7 Vacuum Cleaners, and I use them all regularly, so the wear is spread out among them, which means I rarely have to change a belt in my 4 uprights.
When I buy belts, I buy packs of two, but seeing as I only have to change the belts every couple of years, the second belt in the packet sits in my cupboard for around 2 years before being put into use. Will the 2 years of sitting in the cupboard reduce the life of the belt when it is used, due to the rubber hardening or something ? I was just wondering... | ||
