If anybody is near, for $10 it looks like a done deal! Does anyone know much about this one?

That is a Kenmore Commander. I'm pretty sure those are from the '50s. I have one but it is not nearly as nice as that one. They are one of the most inconvenient vacuums to use, in my opinion, but they sure are neat!

definitely a Kenmore Commander - can be used with the upright dolly or as a tag along.

Hi Guys!
New to the forum.
That is definitely a commander. Have one that is just the tank-type(not on the cart). It is the same color scheme as shown. It had a long production run and came in many different color schemes.
I remember my grandmother's was brown with a darker rose-brown nose and side accents. Bought mine on eBay. It is a great machine and was super popular in its time (40's to 50's) It was the vac of the day on 11/19/2011. I have a copy of the posting.
Mine is used quite frequently. I have it in my Florida home in Fort Lauderdale and use it as the downstairs vac when I am there.
