A Douglas canister vacuum from the late 70's or early 80's? My stepmom had one & I always wanted to play with it. It had a power nozzle and as I recall was white. So far all I have seen in posts is the small portable Douglas carvac. I am curious as to what the canister model was and if any of you guys own one or have pics of any? I have seen the same power nozzle with other brands on here, I believe in fact with an Airway on one post.

YES!

It was a square boxy thing, you know Douglas came from the Kingston Corp.To Me they looked kind of like the 70s Singers.

Here's a thread with a JCPenney catalog from 1979. Does the canister on the third page look like the Douglas?

Sears sold the same machine under the Kenmore name too.

Cole, the power nozzle looked like that. My stepmom's was white with metal wands though. I am fuzzy on the exact shape & look of the tank, but that one doesn't look as I remember from what I recall. Seems her tank was not plastic & did not have a top mounted tool caddy. Also her's was squared off, not sloped at the hose end. I recall her's as more a rectangular plain looking shaped metal, which I know probably sounds more like an Airway. But I do know it was Douglas b/c that's the first I had ever heard of the Douglas brand as a child

Hey there in Kansas,
I don't know anything about the Douglas canister but I can tell you that Airway did use the power nozzel on a few models as well as Vita vac, Handi way, and many others.
