Can anyone tell me a little more about this vacuum? This was my daily driver for about 20 years. I sold it a few years ago and now I have a little seller remorse... this was before I was interested too much in vacuums I just wanted something retro.

In searching through the archives I don't see too much. I have seen a few vintage advertisements but nothing for this specific model. I am guessing it is from the early 50s. It was very much the like the vintage GE I recently got.

I think it went to a good home. I didn't give it away. I wouldn't be surprised if the buyer wasn't a member of this club though it has never resurfaced as far as I can tell.

I remember wanting a vintage vacuum to go along with my overall vintage decor in my apartment, and picked this up at a thrift store in Los Angeles about 1987 for $15. I was looking for a Kirby but this was close enough.

Hi Brian -

Your Premier was the first post-WWII Premier to hit the market (late 1945). The style would be changed within about a year. That particular style had debuted in about 1939, though the coloring was different on the pre-War models. The black-and-steel motor hood with pin-striped bag would quickly be replaced by a more updated plastic headlight shroud and reddish bag styling.

If I can find the old ads I have, I'll scan (part) of them and post them here. The full ad is too large to be scanned by my scanner. Hope that helps...John L.

That Premier looks just like mine except for the bag, which is brown on mine.
