Hello everyone. Since Brad (Beerad) showed off his Miele Solaris, & the discussion about Miele bag leakage, I thought I would show off one of my 2 Mieles.
I found this in a pawn shop in my local town, with 5 genuine Miele cloth HEPA bags thrown in, for only $69 dollars! Of course, I didn't dare leave it behind for that price. It has all it's original accesories, except for the floor brush & an adapter used over the HEPA filter to convert to a blower. The top of the tool cover has had most of the lettering scrubbed off, & some scratches as if someone took an abrasive scouring pad or metal soap pad to it, but other than some minor wear scuffs on the sides, it's in great shape! Enjoy the pics, guys.... Rob |

Allen, the vacuum is a 2002 model, according to the maker's plate. Interestingly enough, in 2004 they kept the model #, but changed the color to beige & the name to Miele Classic. The Classic came with the new Vortex motor system that is now standard on their canisters.
Which leads me to ask a question....I have long suspected this vacuum came with the Miele-made double-fan motor, instead of the Miele-made single fan motor. Is there any way to tell which motor it has without taking the vacuum apart to find out?? Rob |

Ok, thanks for the info, Scott! I will check out the label then & see what it says for wattage.
The real confusing thing for me, is that although the fan casing on the motor appears to be different than on the Red Velvet's single fan Vortex motor, & that the Monte Verde doesn't have the "hesitation" for a split second on starting up like the Red Velvet seems to have, the motor appears to have the same white casing around it at the back like the Vortex motor has...from what I can tell looking thru the filter grille. And I thought that all Vortex motors had the white casing in the back, but not the double fan motors. Rob |

You can also look at the power selector switch. If max power is 1100, it's the two stage motor, if the max power is 1200 then you have the single stage motor. |
