My dad and I went to Goodwill today and somebody had this very nice Panasonic in the back of their truck to donate. I went up to the guy and told him that I collected vacuums and asked if I could have it. He said he no problem with that at all and gladly pulled it out of his truck bed. He said there is nothing wrong with it and it runs great! I thought it was to good to be true.. When I got it home I found that the bottom wheel is cracked and smashed in. Almost every Kenmore I get has that issue. I put some silicone on it and it is drying right now. Other than that, this thing is absolutely flawless! It has all of the attachments, clean brushroll, no rips in the hose or cord, working headlight, no major scuffs, no dug in scratches, clean bag chamber, and a new bag! I am hoping that I can get the wheel fixed because this really is a nice cleaner, especially for free!

Thats one of the two I had. One being the Kenmore version. I wish I still had it/them. The Kenmore I gave away and the Panasonic I parted out when the motor went. They both ran for a long time as my daily downstairs vac. The Kenmore from 1997-2004. I gave it away in 98, and the Pan. ran from 2000- 2004. I dk why it only lasted 4 years It was only 3 rooms I vacuum down here lol.

Anyway good luck with it =)

Nice find, it looks great. I remember the Sears Kenmore version, it was green and didn't have the cord rewind pedal. In 1997 I saw one on clearance for $99, at Sears Appliance. I wanted it but didn't have enough money to get it then.

Nice find there, Chase! Looks to be in mint condition there....the previous owners must have babied it.

As far as your cracked plastic around the caster wheel goes, I would ask around at your local vac shops to see if they save the bases from Kenmore/Panasonic canisters; I know that my local vac shop saves a couple of bases because the cracked plastic around the caster wheel is a common issue, & Kenmores are very popular in my town. I also seen a website back a while ago that had a way to repair your existing base; if I can find it again, I will post a link here so you can get the directions.
