The Oreck dealer here in Albuquerque has recently added Meile vacs to their showroom. They claim that avid Oreck users remain so but there must be some incentive for them to combine these two brands. duane |

We have the same thing in our area. All 3 Oreck stores now sell Mieles and other brands too. |

I've noticed the same thing in Fort Wayne, IN where a Miele Dealer now carries Oreck and Sanitaire believe it or not. And another shop carries Oreck and Simplicity. |

Its been several years since I visited-Kinston Sew&Vac out my way has Oreck uprights, the full line of Simplicity,Royal, and TriStar. They have the TriStar on display with a sign on it that it is sold at your house only. This was a surprize to me. |

Oreck probably got more lax with their dealers when Oreck started selling at Target, Walmart Kohls, and Sear's. If they are going to dilute the brand then they have to allow the dealers to sell something else. |

The change in Oreck stores and marketing strategy was brought up in a thread earlier this year. The only thing in life you can be sure of is change. CLICK HERE TO GO TO henry200's LINK |

In SA we don't get Oreck but when dyson came to SA officially in 2007 alot of nastyness ensued.Mainly by Miele.
I was approched to sell the machines in our shop and Miele had a fit and threatened to dropped us as agents. at the time we sold AEG ELECTROLUX and Miele and commercial machines.
Miele had a fit despite the fact that dysons were more expensive and they were focusing on uprights, at the time we only got miele canisters.
I told miele to #*!$ off whith there threats. in the first week of becoming a dyson agent I sold more dysons than I had sold miele in the previous 2 months.
a year latter Miele came back wit hthere tale between there legs offering me back my dealership but I said no. AEGElectrolux had all the cylinders I needed and at the time I was not impressed with the upright. We are however in the next few month going to be taking the agency back .
The problem with one brand agency's are that if you do not like that brand you will never go there to buy a vacuum. If you have several brands then the customer can compare them and more than often takes the one they didn't like in the first place because a freind said it was bad when they find out its actually very good.
If that makes sense |

I some times think these company's own policy's cost them sales and market share. Miele did it here and guess what they lost market share not only because of dyson but because of there own stupidity they were no longer represented in the majority of shops any more.
What is satisfying to me is when they come back begging for your shop space hehe |
