I am really grooving on the Kenmore 2029219 in shocking tangerine. I'm a big fan of other Kenmore products. My only experience with a Kenmove vac was my Mom's canister vac purchased in the late 60's. It had a very long life with absolutely no pampering or loving care of any kind. If it was possible to get it down the hose, it got sucked up in my house. After about 20 years or so, the bearings started to scream like a banshee.

Opinions on the new Kenmores? I thought my desire to buy another vacuum cleaner would have been kept in check by my wonderful Filter Queen Majestic, but then I saw that tangerine dream...

Hey there

I love some vacuums because of their color too, but I still can't bring myself to love really awful vacuums, no matter their color. As an example, I love my Eureka Smart Vac because it's Purple, but if it was the gray or hunter green or teal one, I don't think I'd love it as much.... still a good vacuum though and I do love it for more reasons than the color, but that makes it so much better.

I've even thought of organizing my collection by color instead of brand, but then I'd be mixing brands up, and I wouldn't know whether to go by the color of the motor housing, bag, or handle.... they aren't all designed so the the entire machine is one solid color.

Modern Kenmore canisters are still powerful, but very fragile. I've had experience with several used ones, and the plastic is just so flimsy. It's almost a given that the power nozzle wheels are going to fall off.... quite often, the height adjust and handle release pedals are broken too..... I've *almost* bought 5 different ones from Craig's List over the years, but they all had at least one of those parts broken. I have a friend who has three, and they all have at least one of those parts broken.... two of of them, it's front power nozzle wheels. The latest Kenmores have gotten a little cheaper on the dusting brushes too.... and I've seen a few instances of the switch in the hand grip breaking. I don't know what's happened to them lately.... I assume Panasonic still makes most of the high end machines.... we never saw issues like these when I sold them for Sears back in 02 and it really saddens me that machines costing as much as they do have gone down so drastically in quality.

I don't think it is wrong at all.  The Electrolux aqua G IMHO is still one of the most beautiful vacuums ever made.

Colors.....

If it wasn't for the colors, I'm sure I wouldn't have 25+ Hoover convertibles. Then there's the blue Eurekas, red-trimmed Kirbys, etc. I feel for the person who may be color blind and cannot enjoy all the colors that vacuums have come in over the years. The only person that once said when looking at my convertibles, "they all look alike", was color blind!

I have to like the vacuum for itself and then the color. I love the new Miele Red Velvet, that is a beautiful color but its non-powered, straight suction is its down fall for me .
