I thought these tools were for the Hoover 700, 575 and 725 era of machines, but I've never seen the long panlike attachment. I guess it clips onto the brushroll opening. Can anyone tell me more about its use?

Thanks!

It looks like a metal version of the converter pans they used with later model convertibles.. Wierd, I had no idea those were used on such an early model.

Used on.........

Such models as the pre 541 Hoover 100 range.

Yep, you're right Walter. That type of tool conversion was being offered very early with older Hoovers. They actually had very effective suction. By the age of the box graphics, I would say that it was about the 102 to pre-541 era...approximately the early 20's.

Holy cow look at that price tag! Not too common. I have seen only a few in pictures.

The booklets dont go to the machine as far as I can tell.

I was almost quite tempted to hop on that original 105 just for the bag. But I passed. Really a little much for a machine in not so great of condition.

Not as bad as a vac shop who we called not to far from omaha. He said he would be interested in selling some old machines (He has hundreds of them) Asked how much we would pay, said maybe $100 or so for decent ones. He flipped out and started cussing at my friend telling him to never ever call again. He said he would accept no less than $2,000 for each machine. We are talking 500 series kirbys, and hoover convertibles. No model Os, or anything.

So he plans to keep them for the rest of his life then... :P

Some people just don't get that some things are not as valuable as they think they are, and if they want to sell, then they have to work with the buyers, rather than tell them to F off and never to call again... :P

With THAT price AND attitude,

I think I'd tell HIM to F... himself!   I wouldn't take them if they were free now! He sounds like a nut.
