1965 Philips!
Hey there, It's been a long time since I haven't posted anyting, and I thought this could be a good chance. Sooooo...What you see here it's my latest addition to my collection, and early swivel-top hose model from Philips. It was given to me by a friend of mine, as we do exchange vacuums sometimes.

So, what do you think? I love it! :D

I fixed one for a cusomer the other day , just a lose cord, I gave her a good price and made her promise to send it my way if she ever decided to replace it.

Thats how I feel about all the USA stuff, I suppose you always want what you can't have ( easily)

I just found out tonight that to get a vacuum that will cost me $40.00 to south africa will cost me $ 500.00 :(((( so sad , If that sounds bad the exchange puts 1 us dollar at 8 SA rand , even more depressing

THAT

Is one of THE nicest vacuums that I've ever seen in my life! and I've seen a lot :P What does it perform like? I'd love to get my hands on something as sweet as that. Could we see some more pics please? it really is stunning :)

Nice find :)

Charlie

kenkart: as gsheen said, I've also love amercian and japanese vacuums, but they're not so easy to get. But step by step now I have like 7 USA machines (YAY!)

Charlie, I'll take more pictures of it tomorrow and post them, maybe I was thinking to youtube it soon. I really enjoy using it, the suction is ok, quite close to the electroluxes from that era, so it does a good job. The swivel hose and the wheels with a front caster make it very maneuvrable and easy to move around.

Nice to see you like it!

Kevin.

What a beautiful vacuum - so stylish and unique. And, I like the way you posed all the pictures. Very nice. Thanks for posting these.

pinkge...

They were sold in Europe from 1965 until ca.1969-70, so obviously they aren't still in production nowadays, I think that they were sold in Spain too, but I'm not sure, maybe they arrived here later (in the late 60's), the canisters that were sold over here in the mid 60's were quite diferent.
