I have a Bissell SC Carpet Cleaner from the late 80's or early 90's that I bought a couple months ago. It picks up water, but it won't spray. The pump doesn't sound like it does on my Bissell Power Lifter either, so I'm thinking that the SC may need a new pump. The other problem is, I can't get it apart to see what's wrong with it because the screws are on there so tight that I can't get them off. Does anyone have a solution for getting the screws off? Also, does anyone know why the carpet cleaner isn't spraying? And where could I find a pump for one of these if that's what it needs? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

some times the shampoe used dries out to jam the little valve inside the pump, I'd use some wd40 o loosen the screws and then dissasemle taking carfull note which way the seals face , this should work, if not then you need a new pump
