I just found this for FREE on craigslist - went and picked it all up and it looks great! Did these come with green attachments or are the red ones "correct"? I haven't had a chance to even plug it in yet, but the guy who gave it to me said that it was pretty noisy...

handle spring

Seems like the spring on the handle doesn't work - the handle drops right over if it's not propped up right. How hard is it to fix or replace that?

The red tools are the wrong ones, cos the tools the D80 had were of course D80 green... :)

Those red ones are for a 500 series, I haven't a clue which one though...

Oh, and the red "thing" is the carrying handle, you pull out the pin at the base of the main handle, lift it off, slot that red one in place, put the pin back and hook the bag onto it, and hey presto, a portable cleaner... :)

I bet the fan is broken, if its noisy. Tell us what happens when you turn it on.

well...

I turned it on and thought it was just as quiet as my other D80 - in fact, I thought it sounded great! it did give off a "puff' of dust from the bag and smelled strongly of dog...
I also noticed that this D80 has only one wheel per side on the forward axle, where my other has two wheels per side on that axle?

If your other D80 has two wheels per side, you either have a later axle, or have axle extender screws to add the extra set, this is often a mod to stop it sinking into deep carpeting, as the narrow wheels tend to just sink in making it harder to push and less effective...

The single wheel per side configuration is the factory standard fitting... :)

sfcoronet--I've a few photos here of Dual Sanitronic 80 accessories box and most (not all) of the attachments. I'm missing a green hose. Thought you'd like to see what you'd want to hunt down for your machine
