I bought a European Electrolux Mod D729 from Ebay here in the US. It's has 220 volts and 850 watts Ok I do have the transformer to run it but There is a problem. When I run it like for 10 minutes it knocks the power out in my house. A collector here told me it must have a short in it. But would the short be in the wiring? also on top is a yellow button that pushes up and down and it says max. When the button is push down it lights up and ther vacuum runs, When the button is up and the switch is still on it won't run, Is there something wrong with that max switch because I would think that it would run in either position down or up, Or I'm I wrong about that? I know there has to be something wrong with it because I ran my UK Juniors and MY Greman AEG Vampr And Neither of those Vacuum Cleaners kicked off the power like the Lux did. I'm asking anyone of You'll If You'll could give me some guidance on how to fix it. I'm postiung @ pictures of it so You'll can see what it looks like

Again Thanks For any Help

I used to have this exact machine, only in 120V and it was labeled as Viking. It had a Eureka powernozzle.
