Hey guys, I just wanted to put another question out there. Why did electrolux make a 30ft hose for there metal tank canisters?

Thanks,
Daniel

Electrolux did not make a 30-ft. hose for their metal tank canisters as far as I know -- only for their central vacuum cleaner systems.

They did make longer woven hoses for a few models -- 12-ft.-long "commercial use" cloth hoses for the XXX, LX & E, and a longer (not sure of the length) woven vinyl hose for the Hospital G.

Agreed.....

I've never heard of a LUX canister hose that long, but a 30' hose for their central  vac system, sure.

I just so happened to be looking on ebay the other day and I came across a 30 foot replacement hose that was for their tank canisters. Interesting...

Could you post the link to that listing? I'd sure like to see it.

Daniel, I remember seeing that listing also a while back, thinking that the machine may loose suction on a hose that long. I think one of the members here has one, but I might be mistaken.

Here is the link: http://www.ebay.ca/itm/ELECTROLUX-HOSE-3... . Would the canister have a loss of suction with this hose on it?

I.....

certainly think there would be a LOT of suction loss with a hose that long on a canister vacuum! Prove me wrong?

Ah, okay, now I get it. That is not a genuine Electrolux hose; it's a bojack product from some vac supply place.

As others have said, I reallly don't see the point because even with a later model with strong suction, you're going to lose an awful lot of power.

Have you ever felt the suction power of a central vac system right at the motor intake? You can barely pull your hand off! But by the time the airflow goes through the pipework in the house and then through, yes, a 30-foot hose, the suction is about the same as any basic portable vacuum cleaner. Whoever thought a 30-foot hose for a tank vacuum cleaner was a good idea was wrong!
