Very nice collection!

You have quite a variety of vacuums there.  I liked seeing that little Eureka Princess.  My mother got one just like that for Christmas in 1961.  I bought a Royal 880 just like yours when I was in college and I have one of those little Dirt Devil broomvacs too and the Kirby Dual 80 is one of my all-time favorites

Post# 149332 , Reply# 12   8/28/2011 at 21:43 (4,595 days old) by kirbyeureka95 ()
thanks!

for a while i was going for just kirby's and eurekas, and had a good number, but then i couldnt find any for about a year so i started going for whatever i liked. and then i sold a many of the kirbys and eurekas :P and i agree i LOVE the d80 especially the sound and the big bag inflating

Wow I must say you have some very beautiful and rare vacuum cleaners IE that old electrolux ( do u have any more luxs)? and that rexair very nice. Zach

i dont have any more

i have in the past, but none of them had power nozzles, and unless the vac is really neat i dont like canisters without pn's (as you see i have a couple exceptions, but im selling a couple of them)

I love your collection, great pictures! Love the Eureka's and it is amazing how folks used vacuums with no powerheads. My mother never had one till I bought her one in the late 80's and that was a JC Penney Eureka 1700 model. She loved it!  I can still see her vacuuming with out a powerhead, the house was always spotless! She just swept more than normal, needless to say we kept her on her toes!  But I love the Eureka's, I just bought that  Montgomery Ward Signature 700 it has no powerhead and I love it. It is only 7amp but man it has power! We were chatting about it at the vacuum store today and they wanted the motor out of it because it was such a quality make. I just love them all......

That is just an awesome collection!! Love the Royal Prince hand vac and the Eureka Ultra upright!! Those Ultra uprights are hard to find and are very good machines. Your Kirby collection is beautiful! Thanks for sharing the pictures! Craig

That's a very nice collection that you have there! I especially like the Red/White Eureka upright with the red paisley print bag! That is a rare machine and I have never seen one in person. Did you find that at a local thrift shop or vacuum store? Thanks for sharing!

Stephen

Great Collection

Mike
you have a great variety and some really choice machines in a collection of 30 or so. they are most all usable and very important machines in the evolvement of
the Kirbys and and the Eureka's.
Take good care and enjoy then !
Norm

Nice machines!

Your collection is really nice. You have some excellent vacuums.

Does your Miele have a turbine nozzle attachned to it, or is that the S5 Orion with a battery-powered power nozzle?

Your Electrolux Epic 3500SR 75th Anniversary Edition upright is a favorite vacuum of mine. You can get an after-filter kit that installs over the exhaust to give the machine micro-filtration.

The Dyson DC21 Motorhead definitely will clean a carpet!

thanks!

my miele is an s4 orion with the battery powered accu-nova PN. thanks for letting me know about the electrolux im definately gunna look into that! and yes, the dc21 is a beast :)

The DC05

Hey Michael...

Thats a rare find over there- wonder how it came to be!.

It will run fine from a 220V dryer outlet- does it have a UK plug????

Seamus

i hadnt thought about that....

it came from someone who moved here from england. ill post a picture of the plug my dryer outlet later to make sure its good. are all dryer outlets in the US 220V?

Hi Mike

really nice collection.

I managed to find a dc05 motor head ( really rare in the UK almost non existant in South Africa)

I wish I could get the dc21 here , that is a trully awsome machine.

Dyson SA has a deal were if you have brought back an over seas model they will give you the equivelant of $200.00 trade in off a new dyson. I do most of these deals and so get allot of UK and USA models

Buythe way your 220volt dryer outlet should work fine, other wise get an inverter, they are not that expensive.

I bought one to run my 110v machines

cheers
Gareth

The Miele S4 Orion

sleepdoc's profile picture
I bet that your Orion will become a collectible Miele. That PN was problematic to demonstrate and sell (according to dealers who have told me that), but it was a first for Miele. The machine itself, IMO, is the prettiest S4, and I hope you keep it.

Post# 149589 , Reply# 26   8/30/2011 at 13:47 (4,593 days old) by kirbyeureka95 ()
im definitely going to keep it!

i LOVE it...its probably the one im going to bring with me to college for my dorm etc.

sleepdoc's profile picture
I don't blame you for wanting to have it with you, but I've seen what happens to vacuums in dorm rooms. Lotsa people are gonna want to borrow it, and it won't stay in mint condition very long. Just consider that. How about the Hoover canister or the Epic 3500 with a hose and dusting brush?

Michael,

Your Heritage II Legend has the rare 13" wide nozzle on it. That is just as rare as your Tradition with the locking headlight cap.

Great Collection

Well done, man. You have some cool machines. Certainly beats my grand total of 3 vacuums, one of which is currently completely disassembled.
It's awesome that you got a shop-vac as a prize. All I ever got was candy and stuff like that...
About the dorm, I live in the dorms at Oregon State, and I have one of those little Dirt Devil hand vacs (the older model) that I use in my room. It's nice to have (although very loud), but I'm very careful about who else uses it.

Totally didn't look at the year...

Somehow I missed the age of this thread. Which vacuum did you end up taking with you?

Post# 232600 , Reply# 32   5/13/2013 at 19:56 (3,971 days old) by kirbyeureka95 ()
haha it has resurrected!

I won't know until this fall when i go :P I've also acquired lots of new vacuums since I posted this, so I'll probably post a collection update soon :) I'm hoping my parents will buy me a dyson DC44 for my dorm, but if not I'll probably go with my Miele S143

Nice basement, too. Good picture quality. I'm glad to see a nice HOOVER representation there. Perhaps put them all in one nice grouping? No need to apologize for the quality of photos. They are fine.

Thanks!

And haha, I'm not quite a hoover guy, but one must admit they are a quality classic so the brand needs some representation :P

In regard to the fantom, I found it at a vacuum shop I discovered about an hour from my house, but at the time the shop was closed and I could only longingly gaze at it through the window. Went back a few weeks later and than god it was still there!

I'm totally stoked that I found another vacuum cleaner enthusiast my own age. We should share some ideas, man. I'm trying to start looking for shop-vacs to collect.
