I busted a fan in a Hoover runabout about 20 years ago. I was cleaning the car and sucked up a large rock and the fan blew. Scared the shit out of me, I was very young. last year I was useing an F-g type Eureka and the fan blew and I never did find what did it.

I have replaced the fan in my G3 but it was busted when I bought it. I am careful not to vacuum large objects that's why I think it's stupid to use a Kirby to vacuum a car, cause you never know what might be under the seat that you can't see. I vacuum up things as large as PENS AND PENCILS with the Shop-Vac cleaning cars at work, let alone the odd little penny or rock!

A neighbor that borrowed my Kirby G4 broke the fan for me-some sort of candy like gunk in the fancase-when I used it the fan broke from the "Stuff" fan replaced under warranty from a cooperative vac shop. She used the vac to shampoo her carpet.Candy in her carpet?she asked again some time later to borrow the vacuum-i pointed out to her to go to the vac shop and look for used Kirbys.

I busted the fan on a sanitaire once, It made the most horrible noise . the cats scattered

I once plugged a 110v machine into my variac and it shorted out feeding the machine 240v instead, the machine wound up like a jet engine and exploded, awsome

I've never had a broken fan, but then I've almost always used a cannister/cylinder type vacuum!
