Yesterday I went out thrifting, and found a Panasonic Performance Plus from September 2000. It is practically flawless! It seems to be a dealer-only model, as the department-store Panasonics looked much different. Could anyone tell me some history on this model? The information-sticker says it's Made in the USA, which surprises me. I thought Panasonic was Asian made.

This vacuum was very well taken care of; they even used Genuine Panasonic bags and belts.

I have a couple older MC-5100's they were made in japan. Around 13 14 years old. Great little machines lite, easy to handle and worked reasonably well.
Yor USA made machine may be from the same factory as Riccars, Simplicitys or th Sharp. Later on I will post a pic of my hose conversion I did on the Panasonic. Mine is the Mini commercial unit.

Funny thing they use the same belt as the Bissell style uprights 7,8,9

I think this was Panasonic's best machine bar none. I love the proformance plus line!! Second best was the early 663 style.

Yes, these were 'sonic's most simple and reliable machines. Great for commercial or residential.

I don't get it, what exactly does the airmaxx do? i've heard of the triforce motor before but never really looked into it.
