Not quite a dirty fan or activator, but nice to see something from Hoover that seems relatively decent. Plus, Hoover are offering 5 year guarantee's on them. I did rather like the Slalom/Freedom range, so lets hope these are equally as good. Not had chance to see them in person yet, but will deffo be checking them out in Comet when I get chance

They look a little like Vax or Bissel designs. Probably made in China anyway.

They look as though they would be relatively easy to use, like the TurboPower 2/3 were. And they appear to use sensible designs for the extension tubes and hose. That is a big plus point, alone.

The Freedom and Slalom looked to me, to be a bit fussy and fiddly in their operation.

I wonder how many customers Hoover lost to competitors, due to customers not liking the designs of recent years?

Hi, I really love the Hoover freedom upright. Allot better than the Hoover Dustmanagers or the Hoover One. I don't like the Hoover Slalom. I had a few in for repair. Its not builts as well as the Freedom.

Hay ho that's my 2 cents worth lol.

I picked one up the TOL model from Argos on Friday as they have a error with there online pricing ... It's priced at 249.00 in the printed catalog but the website has it for 124.97..... So I grabbed one..

Well, it's ok but there's no way I would pay full price for one, it's the normal cheap made in China plastic vac could really have any brand on it. Funny they reused the Turbopower name on it

That said the suction is great and it's nice to see a Hoover upright with a headlight again in Europe...

The 5 years guarantee has a little catch to it.... You can register for the first year on line but must fill in a form and send it back to Hoover in the first 30 days to get the next 4 years.

Here's a couple of quick pics

They do seem to reuse the the Turbopower name a lot! I do like that it doesn't have a "loop" style handle... I don't like those and it's hard to find a modern vacuum without that. The video on the site was really cool.

It doesn't seem to have a brushroll off setting for bare floors. Did Dyson patten the No Loss of Suction term? I hope not or Hoover's going to be in trouble!

Where's the switch? Is it a pedal on the back? I like the shape of the headlight, but it seems badly located... like most vacuums, it shines on the vacuum itself instead of the floor, casting a shadow right in front of the nozzle. It is fascinating that the actually advertise the headlight as a feature like the did in the olden days, it seems *almost* standard these days even on many really cheap machines.

Does the canister have a power nozzle or just a turbo nozzle?

I think the original patent on the dual cyclone must have expired as both Vax and Hoover are now producing "No Loss Of Suction" cleaners. The root cyclone is of course still covered by the patent so it can't be copied.
