Unscrew the fill tube from the vacuum base. Then, flip over the vacuum to where you can see the brush-roll. There will be many screws places all around the base. Unscrew on the base and pull up. You will see the motor. Disconnect the wires and belt from the motor. The wires simply pull out, and can easily be pushed back in. I think there are three screws connected to the base of the motor, once you unscrew those you can lift out of the motor with the fan. The fan housing pulls up and out, but you can still service the fan without it removed.

Hope I helped!
