This is probably my favorite Constellation.

But, this was not an inexpensive vacuum: $97.50 in today's dollars would cost $728.42. Interesting...!

Below is the link to Calculate CPI from 1665 to 2012. I think it's fun to put some of the costs of vintage vacuums in and see what they would coast today. Not surprising that we get such junk on the market when you look at what it wwould cost to produce the quality we value in these vintage machines.

I've often wondered how to do that! That's helpful.
That was a gorgeous Constellation, wasn't it? I think it was more appealing than the original blue one.

Wow! Using that calculation table, I would not be able to easily afford the Hoover 150 as it would be over $1000.00!

$913 today!

a new model 65 Convertible

at $125 in 1957 would be $903.90 today!

Something that does roughly track is the cost of a Kirby. A new Classic Omega in 1973 was roughly $300

Today that $300 would be $1375.00
Thats about right for a Kirby.
