A couple months ago, I saw an ad on CL for vacuums and vacuums parts. Of course I responded to the ad and I found out that the person actually owns a local vacuum store. I went to his house about a month ago and bought a Kirby Heritage II Turbo Sander from him that has all of the pads and everything. Well, he has vacuum parts stacked up to the roof in his garage behind his house. So, I told him I would come up with a list of stuff I wanted and I would e-mail him the list. I asked him if I could go through the parts with him and he said yes so he e-mailed me back on wednesday and I went to house house and sorted through some of the parts for 2 hours. He has parts for old Royals, Kirby's, Hoovers, Electrolux's. I'm now friends with him and we have built up a good friendship. This is what I got from him for $35.

That is one of the Hoover Z vacuums that has been talked about. Wasn't a big hit for Hoover as it was harder to push and heavier than a Kirby.

Yes, it is heavy. The one I have actually has a broken handle or something. It tries to fold back down every time I pull the handle up. The Hoover Legacy works, but sounds like a blender. Fan is fine, so I'm assuming it must be something else cause the machine is totally perfect. Although it is missing the hose and the attachments and I didn't take apart the motor to clean it, I only took apart the motor housing. As far as I know, the Eureka Works but I haven't plugged it in yet. My friend I got it from said it worked though. Same with the Z. The person that my friend got it from said it worked, but I haven't plugged it in yet. The Convertible I haven't plugged in yet either, because it needs a brushroll. And, I need to clean out too.

Hoover Legacy

If the fan has cracks (cracked blade) or is warped, that's why its so noisy. I changed fans on Elite-style & other fan-first uprights & after putting new fans on, they run much quieter than before.

Blue Convertible

I had one like that when I was a kid.

There is actually not really any chips or broken blades on the fan. I have this same problem with one of my Convertibles. It sounded like a blender when I got it and the fan was okay on it and then I took it apart and cleaned it all out, then I replaced the fan and it's still a little loud and it still sounds like a blender a little bit but I think it needs a new armature.

Time for you to start an ebay store, give the man a % of the sales.

Let me know if you come up with any Tradition parts (handle or nozzle) lol

Actually, the guy a bought the stuff from had a brand new Tradition Head in the package. I thought about getting it, but then I didn't because I don't have a tradition. He also has a belt lifter to the tradition and some other tradition parts.
