Yes I had one but a newer version. It had the Wessel-Werk power nozzle. Very similiar to Compact, Tristar, Miracle Mate, etc.

The Wessel Werk power nozzles are problem childs--the handle switch fails in them frequently-the nozzle will no longer work.the switch isn't easy to find.Have a few of them in my junk box.The Vortech is an excellent vacuum, though. They need to switch to a difffent powernozzle.

Yes, I've seen them before. So far, I've owned only one and I'd like it to stay that way. Let's see, power switch cover had fallen off; housing on nozzle end of hose had fallen apart; one of the front wheels had fallen off and socket was enlarged so I had to Mickey-Mouse it to make it retain a new one. Hoses and attachments on mine were very cheaply made. Bags very dear. Machine said it was made by Ghibli in Italy but they are distributed in North America out of BC, Canada, I believe. I've been told by a local vac dealer that these are sold by distributors, much like Kirby, Filter Queen, Rainbow, et al. He told me a minor horror story about a lady who brought one in for him to repair. She showed him the receipt for her payment for the machine and she'd paid $3,200 for the rig. Gulp.

yes, have used it for two (way too short) weeks

I had this very machine in my house for 2 weeks, with the exact powerbrush that is shown in the auction.

Deep cleaning carpets works as good with it as with a Kirby, just awesome. Above floor cleaning and floor vacuuming is great as well, the air stream is tremendous. There was some extra exhaust air filter to it which was to be attached on the back of it. This looked odd, as it was so "separate" from the main unit (looked like a gas mask filter, but it worked fine). The machine will follow you easily, yet not gliding so "Rolls Royce" like as an Electrolux would do. The electric hose feels somewhat stiff but you get used to it. Sound is average (not a jet engine, but not silent either). Nice: You can just dump the dust out from the bucket shaped paper filters (or fiber filters if you choose those). Strange: Looking inside the dust chamber (once you have removed the outer fabric bag) gives you a strange feeling of "kayak" fiberglass manufacuring. Overall the machine is a bit heavy but on the other hand this shows good workmanship.
I regretted the 2 weeks being over, I could pull more than 2 filter "bucket bags" during that time.

Which is more powerful between VF & a TriStar? Will a Vortec Force outperform a TriStar? I haven't found a VF dealer here in my area so far.

I feel the Vortech is more powerful then the TriStar-the Vortech has a larger higher power motor.and the vortech has larger bags-they can hold more debris.
