I found this on our little trip this last weekend, I usually don't buy uprights or Hoovers, but it was CHEAP! and nice, the label caught my eye, for more pics of my junk finds" Mixers, waffle iron, Christmas lights and a few other goodies" see my post under Off Topic about our weekend trip.

Neat! That's a rebuilt model. The originals would have had a green band and different name plate.

I have a real soft spot for those old Hoovers!  I've never seen a "rebuilt badge" like that before.

Did you say mixers? Christmas lights? other goodies?  I'm heading straight to that thread next!!!

Brandon.....

is partly correct (no offense brandon =))

a all orginal Hoover 300 has no plate on the nozzel like a 541 or 700 etc......instead it has a round green and chrome medallion on the top of the motor.....with a plain chrome nozzel.

@Hans.....i love this machine has such a nice tone to it, and is slightly more like the later Hoover versus a earlier one...motor wise as far as how it disassembles....i know you not a huge fan of uprights, but service this machine well, and give it a good tight belt....and then i think you will find your self using it more and more!
