I believe

it's stated to mean "Factory No Longer Available"   I suppose the original factory part is no longer made/available...my best guess :)

At times, a supplier will slap NLA on something that they just don't carry anymore. The item might still be in stock at other suppliers.

So, there are some things I can still get from one company that another company stopped selling a long time ago.
