Saturday was like Christmas here in Iowa. One of the ladies I work with sent me home with a newer Electrolux that she was going to throw out, then I came home to find two packages at my back door.

One of the packages had this wonderful Eureka Vibra Beat canned ham canister. Marty Rocha sent this to me as a surprise. Marty your the BEST! I have never seen the larger bare floor tool that he sent along with the cleaner. It runs great, quiet, and a lot of suction. Mark had me use the vibra beat this morning.... needless to say he had no idea of the noise that thing can make.

The other package contained a hose for my Hoover Jr. from Tom Anderson. Now all I need is the convertor and that will be a complete machine. Thanks Tom!!

I will post more pics later of my Eureka collection.

Morgan

This machine is in very good condition, no rust, very few scratches.

Wow...Morgan...beautiful machine. It seems to be dripping with features. How is the suction? Is that the original hose or would it have been a woven hose? I like the style of these "canned ham" machines. Thanks for posting the pics of it.

Sorry...I just went back and re-read your post...you say it has good suction. I used one of those vibra beat tools...sounded like an indoor weed eater! I will send you a converter for your Junior whenever I find one.

Great looking machine...

I also loved those canned ham canisters, as you call them. Yours appears to be in mint condition. Wow. Love the iridescent green housing.

I have always been a fan of canisters and I like the on board attachments.

I grew up with Electrolux model 30, then my mom got a lewyt big wheel which moved around easier than the electrolux on skis.

Morgan!

I'm so glad it made it to you in one piece! You know how the postal service can be! I'm glad you like it. It was a rescue from a thrift store. I just could not let it go to a home where it would not be taken care of. I do that sometimes, buy vacuums not necessarily for my collection but for anyone who might want it. I like the larger floor brush too!! As far as I'm concerned, the more attachments the better!!!

Tom, the hose is a replacement. But i have seen pictures of this particular model Eureka and it has a plastic Eureka hose, not a woven one.

Very nice machine! The Vibra-Beat attachment is one of those gadgets we love to hate. Quite a gadget, but absolutely useless in the real world. Remember a few years ago when R. J. entered on in the cleaning contest. Got a lot of laughs, but cleaned dismally. But that's what's so fun about so many of these old vacs. We love them, and they're a lot of fun even when they don't clean that well. Your Eureka, however, aside from the Vibra-Beat attachment, is a good mid-priced cleaner from its time period.

Nice vac, vinvac!

I'd never seen one of the Vibra-Beat nozzles until I was at Roger's in AZ in March. What a racket that thing makes - never used a "canned ham" before this and was very impressed with the power!
