Hello. Rehabbing a bissell vac and trying to reinstall the height adjustor. Having difficulity as when I snap it into place and turn the knob it does not change the height. Assuming there is a trick?

I don't know much about those, but are you putting it on the floor when you try to change the height? Sometimes, if you just turn the knob with with the wheels up in the air, it will look like the height isn't adjusted, but if it's resting on the floor, it will work, it needs pressure or something.... cheap eurekas with the knobs are like that.... Of course there could be a problem with that one or maybe it's not installed right, but most of the time, that has been my experience...

If it's anything like the vac I repaired for my brother (appeared to be Bissell based) you need to release the head as though you were about to start vacuuming, hen you get the adjuster to work properly, otherwise the wheels are pushed out so the nozzle is lifted off the floor, which stops the adjuster working... :)
