Hey Mike -
You and I need to talk one day. I lived in the Bay Area my whole life ('til 1994). There is a great vacuum shop (at least there WAS) on Irving St (out near UC Med Ctr) called F and H Vacuum. A young Greek Guy ran it for his family. The shop had been in business since the 40s, I think. It's on Irving between approx. 10th and 11th Ave. I hope it's still there. I don;t know if George works on Kirbys, but it might be worth a trip over to see if the shop is still open. He's a great guy. Tell him John Lucia sent you - I wonder if he'll remember me? I went there for many years. Anyway, good luck. Other than that place, I can;t recall if there are other places that service Kirby. Possibly out in the Daly City area - there used to be a place on Mission St in Daly City, just a few blocks from where Colma starts. Not too far from the BART station. I think it was on a corner.
