Well, yesterday (Friday) I was on my bike and stopped at a yard sale, and something at the very end of the line of tables caught my attention. A Kirby G5 with the attachment caddy and a large box full of Kirby stuff sitting next to it. I asked how much, and one of the guys said $100. I did my usual small talk and told him that I collect vacuums and such, and he said I could take it for $50. I told him that if it was there tomorrow then I would come back and get it. I went back today after going to some other garage sales, and of course, there it was, but in a different spot. He saw me looking at it and asked if I was still interested and I said I was. He said, $30 and it's yours. I couldn't have pulled the money out of my wallet any faster! I got it home to find that it runs like brand new! I didn't think all of the attachments were there, but after going through all of the boxes, I managed to find every one of them! It also has the shampoo system, manual (with no rips, tears, or creases), Owner Care Program thing, VHS, and a box of Kirby Shampoo bottles in a box that would have came with the G6, I am guessing it was what the Kirby Distributor sold at the time when the G6 was out. Unfortunately all of the shampoo bottles are empty, but I don't like the Kirby shampooer anyways. Since I already have a G5, I'll probably clean this up and sell it on Craigslist. Bottom line, it runs great and was one heck of a deal!

Like New Brushroll!

The brushroll had nothing wound around it surprisingly. And usually when I get a used Kirby, it has black stuff all over it, this shockingly didn't. I am thinking that this wasn't used very much, and just sat. The guy did said he has always hated how heavy it is...

Here it is all cleaned and polished up! I'm taking this to my grandparents next door tomorrow morning in exchange for their Kirby G4. I would be selling this and make some money off of it on Craigslist, but my grandma said she'd trade me the G4 that she doesn't even use for this. The only reason I'm doing that is because the G4 is the last "close" vacuum that I have. It was one of the first vacuums that I have ever used, and the first Kirby I have ever used, so it is very sentimental.
But this G5 cleaned up very nicely, and runs absolutely great!
