@lovecanisters
I have an Epic 6000 like the one in your picture but mine has a beige PN, not a blue one. It really is a great canister and very light weight. I had an Epic 6500 for many years and I really like the Epic 6000 much better. As for the newer Lux machines, Ill take my Renaissance over any other one any day, but for a real no nonsense work horse, the 6000 is certainly the way to go. BTW, I'm very surprised that you have never owned an Electrolux especially since you are from LI. There is an Aerus/Electrolux store right on Montauk HWY, just east of the Robert Moses in West Islip which has been there for years. Ive been past it many times as one of my friends live off Pace Dr South which is right by the Aerus store. I'm all the way up on the north shore, but the Sunken Meadow/Sagtikos is only about 10 minutes east of my house and its a fast and easy trip to get to West Islip and the beaches :) I've found that machines like Filter Queen and Rainbow's are rare in this area, but Electrolux vacs have always been around. Before the European machines came into the market, in this area Electrolux was the most exclusive canister to own. |

Brian, if I was going to go with a Electrolux canister, I would go with the plastic body style, BUT try to avoid anything made after 1995, & do get one with the L-shaped PN & metal wands with outer sheath. The reason for this is is that after 1995, the quality of their motors reduced DRASTICALLY, & started using single-stage motors in some of their products, such as the Renaissance.
Ideally if you could find a 2100, Ambassador, or System 90, that would be good. They will look EXACTLY like Fred's Lux Classic above, just in other colors. If you go this route, you will have a vac that will last a long time & provide dependable, reliable service. Rob |

Yes the SideKick is available for the Lux Classic. There are some on eBay, the SideKicks are cheaper there than at Aerus dealer. |

I don't use my Sidekick I as much as I thought I would, but it is really, really handy to have. It's amazing at convincing cat hair to let go of various surfaces. |

How loud is the Lux Classic vs. Guardian Ultra? I'm not sure if the Classic is quieter? |
