I have wanted a Capricorn for quiet some time, and when I saw the new color I could no longer resist! I picked it up this afternoon and am very pleased with it. The only thing I would change about it is the hose length which is a bit on the short side, but that seems to be a common complaint with this brand.

Power nozzle

The seb 236 does an excellent job and I love the super bright led lights.

Miele Capricorn

Corye,
Beautiful machine color. Let us know how you like it after you have had some time to use the machine. That short hose is one complaint I hear over and over again with the Miele along with the short power cords.
That is a brand I have never owned but hope to have an example someday. I was taken back with the cost of the bags and filters.
Did it come with the nice fuller brush bare floor tool? I like the led lights on the power nozzle too. Very sharp machine!

Miele Capricorn

Corey,
Sorry to mispell you name. I think faster than I can type! I would be interested to know if the Miele generates much heat from the exhaust after the machine has been in operation.
Do the tools fit inside the cover like the older model? I am sure you will enjoy the machine.

The parquet twister floor tool was included with the vacuum, and the other attachments do store under the lid. I did notice the the back of the machine around the exhaust got very hot after being in operation for about 20 minutes. Is this a common issue?

Miele Capricorn

Corey,
I was just curious. I had a friend (not a vac collecter) where that proved a problem and he was told part was due to the hepa bags and hepa filtrs forcing the motor to run hotter as the bag and filters collect the dirt.
His machine (not a Miele) but a high end door to door machine did have the motor replaced 2 times and he went to a central vac system. I started noticing that my machines that had better filtration seemed like they ran hotter.
My Rainbow seems to have very cool exhaust and my pre-hepa Electrolux's seem to have cool exhaust. It it very noticable on one of my new bag free canisters.
I have had very good reports from several owners about the Miele floor brush.
I just love the color and finish of the machine. What do you think of the smaller dusting brush and upholstery tool? I like the way they fit under the top for storage.

Tools

The upholstery tool is good but the dusting brush is really too small, but that's ok because I have a favorite dusting brush that I use with all of my vacuums. I have been using my Dyson DC 28 Air Muscle as a daily driver for a few months but now the Capricorn is going to take it's place.I think it is a really attractive machine! Much more so in person as opposed to in the pics.

I have that size dusting brush on my Titan, also think way too small, it just sits there. The exhaust on it is quite cool, different motor though I am sure.

Capricorn

I have the silver model. I think it was the last one before the purple one came out. I haven't really noticed the exhaust being too hot. I will check it the next time I use the machine. And I love the power nozzle.Big difference from the smaller power nozzle on my red star. But since I like purple so much I guess I am going to have to buy a new Capricorn so I will have a purple one too.And the parquet floor brush looks huge too me. But it does a nice job on the wood floors..

I love the color of the new Capricorn! If I weren't so fond of the blue Earth, I'd be wanting a machine like yours.

Wattage

vacbear58's profile picture
It is interesting to see the max wattage as 1200 - I suppose it is because they are making them "greener" now - my Revolution looks similar but goes to 2200 watts, but I guess thay have changed the motor or fan configuration to keep performance levels high. Although it might seem small the dusting tool is not bad at all, and the swivel makes it even more useful.

On the down side I find the hose is about a foot too short for my liking and I find the wands rather heavy and the remote control handle a bit cumbersome. But it is still an excellent cleaner and I hope you get many years happy use from it.

Voltage

That's just a function of higher voltage in the UK than the US, isn't it?

color

Patrick-
The color is what convinced me I needed to buy it! When my American Express bill came just this morning I thought did I really need to buy that just because of the color? I quickly decided of course I did! : )
