Does anyone know how to properly wire one of these maybe have a diagram? I found one of these in fargo during trash week didn't appear to be anything wrong with it besides a cut cord and a generic bag that had a bent collar, anyways i took the halves apart without realizing just how many wires there were i thought i had 3 prongs on the winder like my LE but there's four so now i'm just confused....

I had a 2100 apart not long ago, and I'm only going by memory here. I don't have a schematic. The 2100 has the warning lights panel on top that the LE does not have, and IIRC that accounts for the extra wire. Again, this is just from memory but two of the four leads attach to the same contact on the retractor spool casing. The male spade clip is made to accept to two females. The three contacts in the 2100 that I worked on were on one side of the spool casing. The contact in the middle of this group was the one that took two leads. Actually three, as two were paired in their spade clip. Wish I could take a picture and post it, but I don't want to take that thing apart again. If there's any doubt about where any of the wires go, don't connect them until you get a schematic or expert help.

The issue with mine was the cord retractor - spring broken. New cord and reel cost $30-something, so now I have a 2100 with a stationary cord. If my kids ask me what I want for a birthday gift, I'll tell them, a new cord and reel for my Electrolux 2100. They'll go, "Huh?"

The cord retractor is a weak link on these machines, I have since read on the internet. The spring was very cheap; I've seen heftier springs on Hoover Windtunnel and Kenmore canisters.

Electrolux 2100

My 2100 shuts off right after you turn it on.. Has a new bag in it, but I noticed the plastic tubes that go from the bag door to the automatic sensor are not plugged, but they do have some dust in them.. Any suggestions??The machine has hardly been used.... Dan

Sensor that regulates how full the bag gets

I think this is what you need. Mine did the same thing and it was this part that was bad.

wiring and the auto shutoff

I had my 2100 apart last fall but can't remember right now the wiring layout.  I suppose I could pull it apart again but remember it being a pain, unlike my older luxes.  There must be somebody here who knows the wiring path off the top of their head.

When the automatic shutoff started popping the second I turned the machine on I first suspected a plugged tube.  They're easy to blow out or I have used a pipecleaner to clean them.  The problem with my machine was the diaphragm.  Replacing that fixed the problem.

Except for the 2100 I've never had a diaphragm fail on any of my luxes, all the way back to my LX.
