Jerry, there is no beater bar as far as I know, but there is the carpet fluffer attachment. I had one when I had a G4 a few years back and it did a fairly decent job of fluffing the rug up. I think that this attachment was part of the hard floor kit, the one they sell to wax wood floors. I'm sure you can find one on ebay, but if you buy one be sure to be very careful when using it! Never use the tech drive with it and hold on to your Kirby tight, cuz it will just take off when it hits the carpet! I have the Diamond edition now that I purchased new without the rug fluffing attachment. The newer style brush roll seems to do a better job at lifting the nap then the G4 style so you may want to consider changing over to the newer style roller if its possible to do (you have to check with the kirby experts on that one) Anyway, hope this helps! Good luck with your machine, they are extremely versatle and can clean anything on and above the floor! ~Steven |
