Beautiful G-3! I have one with all the "trimmings" and really like it. Kirby did a rebuild on it in 2000 and it still looks good.

To keep them shiny you can use Flitz, Autosol, Noxon and I even use car wax. I'm sure others will give you some tips as well.

Enjoy that new baby!

Good luck with your G3

Hi Jerry I also have aG3 love it also a g4, yes and last of all a G5.I think the G series Kirby vacuums clean the rugs best. I also have a few 500 series they are what got me hooked on Kirbys. I think the new 2007 Kirby is ugly no fine lines like the G3,4,or 5. However the transmisson runs very , very well.Ok take care enjoy your G3. Do you have other Kirbys Doug

This is my first Kirby...

I love it! It cleans well.I don't understand how it all works.. still, figuring out with what small amount of attachments I got with it..lol. I want to ask, Is there a "special" beater bar too put on a Kirby to revive a matted carpet? I heard talk of something like this, I think ?? :S
Thank you..

You need to dress

(Okay, I know most of you have seen this pic before, but...)
Jerry, this machine, and the tech drive, make me feel like I am "Dancing with the Stars" when I use it. It is used to clean a coule thousand square feet in my office.

G3 beater bar

Jerry, there is no beater bar as far as I know, but there is the carpet fluffer attachment. I had one when I had a G4 a few years back and it did a fairly decent job of fluffing the rug up. I think that this attachment was part of the hard floor kit, the one they sell to wax wood floors. I'm sure you can find one on ebay, but if you buy one be sure to be very careful when using it! Never use the tech drive with it and hold on to your Kirby tight, cuz it will just take off when it hits the carpet! I have the Diamond edition now that I purchased new without the rug fluffing attachment. The newer style brush roll seems to do a better job at lifting the nap then the G4 style so you may want to consider changing over to the newer style roller if its possible to do (you have to check with the kirby experts on that one) Anyway, hope this helps! Good luck with your machine, they are extremely versatle and can clean anything on and above the floor!

The Kirby folks have never beleived in "beater bars" in their vacuum roller brush designs.Kirby beleives in stiff brush bristles and cheveron or staggered brush rows to do the job of beater bars.Kirby beleives beater bars wear carpets and rugs faster.Use the Kirby dirtmeter and you will see the Kirby does dig out the sand! You can get a Kirby Dirtmeter from a willing Kirby salesman.Be sure to get the white and black filter test pads to go with it-Kirby salesmen use the black pad in the matteress and furniture vacuuming demos.Great for showing the "body ash" or skin flakes found in beds or upolstered furniture.Remember all of us shed skin peices daily!
