Who could resist such a sales lady? And such a fabulous product. The problem is she wouldn't let it go. I understand it came from the Craig Distributorship in North Carolina. What a beauty. And the machine isn't bad either.

Me eyes!

What an absolutely STUNNING machine! Whoever had that beauty before really loved their machine to death! (or hated it so much they hid it away forever!)

I would have fainted if I saw something so pristine here!

If she's a redhead, then I'm a blonde!

Helen

(I do have to agree it is the most beautiful model 60 I've ever seen.)

Redhead with Red-badged...

That is about as pretty an LX as I have ever seen! And nicely demonstrated as well. Even the hose looks incredible. Enjoy!

"My New Electrolux"

compactelectra's profile picture
Hey Guys!

Yes, I am indeed thrilled to pieces on getting this Electrolux from Hans Craig who found it at an "Antique Mall" in NC! I always dreamed of finding a "New" one some day and when I saw Hans had one I asked if he would trade for a General Electric Floor washer he had been wanting for awhile. Thank You! Thank You! again Hans for this BEATIFUL DREAM MACHINE! I show it off to everyone I know!!
It is truly a TIMEPIECE!

HAPPY VACUUMING!
Tania

Hose Shots For Charles

compactelectra's profile picture
The hose that is pictured above with the machine is actually a replacement hose I got from Tania a while back. Before I came home she went down in the basement and ferreted it out. The inside hose pictured is actually the original hose that came with the machine. The middle hose is a replacement that I found on a trip with Tania up to Jeager's in Kewaskum, WI, house of many treasures. I gave Tania the middle hose to add ends and use with the machine. Unfortunately the original leaks a bit but the others are good.

Guess What I Found

compactelectra's profile picture
In the basement. A brand new Lux polisher in the box. It's a spare so this one goes to Tania to make her machine complete. There not shown, but she has all the bits including a brand new garment aire bag.

I remember!

The first time we met Tania, 1996 St Louis, we all have loved her ever since, truly one of the clubs nicest members.

That model 60!

Came from an antique mall in West Jefferson N.C., a small mountain town.

The hose!

I knew it had not been used much from the hose, and it had the original package of wrappers with it, the hose while looking perfect was stiff, no doubt from being coiled up that many years.. Hans

Thanks Fred for the photos of the hoses.  They are all gorgeous, but I'll say the original one looks more like the color I remember from my childhood, the turquoise chevron pattern a bit subdued in hue.

I recently found a wonderful thrift shop find. Haven't had time to write about it yet, but I will. Here's a tease of the original hose that came with it and you'll see the coloring is very similar to the original LX hose above, albeit a bit faded.

But boy, the darker ones sure do look nice with the machine. The one in the middle is my favorite. (Do you need my shipping address hahaha?!)

And oh my, the polisher glam shot -- I've been reduced to a quivering blob of jelly!  ;P

I agree with Hans, Tania is a wonderful, sweet, kind person.

Well

compactelectra's profile picture
Even though she wouldn't part with the 60 (she bravely left it here until we go to St. Louis in a few weeks) I took the Electrolux lady out to dinner at one of our favorite places - St. Charles Place here in St. Charles. Here she is all dolled up and ready to go in a Bob Mackie outfit. She wanted to make sure that Helen Lawson saw that she was wearing the jewelry we gave her as a gift. Hans and Charles, you are right. She is one of the sweetest persons on the face of the earth. Always a pleasure (and an adventure) to spend time with her. When she is here, it always gives me a new appreciation of vacuums and good friends.

Fred

BTW

If you want to experience something unreal, do what we did last night after dinner. Serve Tania Bailey's and watch "Imitation Of Life" with Lana Turner on the Sony Bravia 52" screen from Netflix. Truly a memorable experience totally narrated by Tania.
