Saw yet ANOTHER eureka cordaway at the goodwill.

Holy cow. This is getting absurd. I have seen at least 5 cordaway eurekas at this one store already.

LOL

ALso some crappy but cool dirt devil self propelled that is metal. Looks like the royal upright. It was bagless so I passed. Was very quiet though.

Since the eureka had a replacement outer bag and cord end, I passed on it. Was $10.

merchandise arrangment

In the picture, note the floor lamps next to the vacs. I've seen this in a couple of Goodwill stores in my area. They arrange merchandise by size/shape in some cases. "Okay, it's tall and narrow, so put it over there."

I've seen some of those Eurekas around. I've never yet bought one. I try to stay with what I know best within what interests me. Logically enough, what I'm interested in I what know best (which sometimes is less than I imagine). By so saying, I'm not casting any aspersions but I generally don't buy Bissell, Dirt Devil or Eureka. Once in a while, a free one comes my way that I patch up and re-home but that's about it. Regina is another one I don't usually fool around with but I've got one out there right now. Not sure what I'll do with it yet.

That Burgundy Eureka

is a model 2097. It originally had a square topped burgundy and white bag. Should also have a vibragroomer 1 brushroll. I have one in my collection now that is in fair condition. It has that good old eureka sounding motor. I had a eureka 2087 which was similar except it had a regular bag, dial a nap carpet height adjuster where the 2097 had a slide carpet adjuster. And no cord reel. Other then those two differences it was the exact same machine. I let a friend of mine use my 2087 and she literatly wore the vacuum out. Dan

Burgandy Eureka's

They were the first ESP, 6.5 Amp. motor Eurekas introduced in 1979. When I was a wholesales rep. for Eureka in Columbus, Ohio and sourthern Ohio. In my mind, at the time, it was the Very Best Upright Vacuum since the Hoover 28 and 29. Other than a Kirby of course !
I have a 2087, like the one we used in our home the 2 + years I was a rep. I actually sold our 1CR Kirby to a local Vac Shop that I serviced as the Eureka
Rep. Never thought I would give up my Kirby. It ended up with the hose on it,
after the ESP 2087, came into our completely carpet ranch house. The Kirby stayed
around, with the Hose forever attached, for cat litter, the kitchen and bathroom floor.
Just a brief flash back for me and my Vacuum Capaids from my 60 years of Vacuum
Cleaner Obssession!
