Howdy all!

Got a dead DC19 (plaster dust - dickheads) and put a brand new Hoover 2400w motor into it. It runs a *little* hot but all Dysons seem to run warm anyway. The motor is actually pretty good for a chinese one and required very little modification of the motor chamber :)

I will put a vid on youtube on my day off :)

Other motors...

Hello,

I've done similar with a DC08 and motor from a Sebo K cylinder, worked very well with possibly more airflow than the original motor. I know some would regard that as sacrilege... in my defence the Sebo was a skip find!

Think I kept the same black motor 'bucket' and modified the gasket, pushed the top on with a lot of effort and screwed it all together quickly!

At the time I had a lot of hard floors to vacuum so that was my main cleaner (also had a bagless Hoover Freespace which just clogged instantly).

Did you keep the original Dyson tools on the cleaner?

Rob
