In 1969 My Mothers first cousin installed wall to wall carpeting, having seen my Aunts model G she thought she needed a power nozzle, so she called Electrolux to have a salesman give a demo, well, he made a big to do about the new 1205 picking up three settl balls...Jan told him ,, My Compact will do that!! He replied that there was NO way A cOMPACT COULD PICK UP THOSE HEAVY STEEL BALLS, SO SHE PROCEEDED TO GET OUT HER C6 eLECTRA ,WITH THE BAG 1/2 FULL, AND PICK UP ALL THREE BALLS WITH NO SWEAT....SHE DID BY THE lUX AND IS STILL USING IT!!!!bUT SHE SAYS IT STILL ISNT AS STRONG AS THE OLD cOMPACT,,lol

Well, Hans, it's true though....Electrolux may be a good vacuum, and I am certainly a fan of them, BUT the Compacts did pull more lift when put on a gauge. The 1205 will pull 60" waterlift, the Compact 80" waterlift. And the Tristar will pull 90" waterlift.

So, sure the Lux is good, but the Compact just a little better suction.
