Bobby,
Its bag is from an 880 from the 1978-85 period. If you need a new belt it is, according to www.hescoinc.com/... #672260 and a new brush roll would be #59721 or #655225. ~Ben |

Bobby,
Sorry... but that is the general production number. There would have to be something else in front of it. Think something like: 07J-A-83707. The "07J" part would be the manufacturing date, which breaks down as: 0 = calendar year 1970, 7 = calendar year decade 1970s, and J = calendar month September. The "A" preceding the sequence number is the line and shift the vacuum came off of. In conclusion, a true 1983 Royal 801 would have a serial number would look like this, for example: H83-A-32857. It is the "H83" that would be the manufacturing date, this case being August 1983. The serial # you found, A-83707, would most likely line up with a 1973 date of manufacturing. Thus I believe your 801 is from 1973. Take a look at the link to find out more about them. ~Ben CLICK HERE TO GO TO KirbyClassicIII's LINK |
