Hi,
Does anyone here know all about the various Royal Deluxe Tanks through the years, such as the 901 and 931 and the Electro-Hygiene versions that are models 950 and 966? The first power nozzle for a Royal canister/tank was the model 497, which according to Jeff Schroff, Sr., was introduced around September 1974 (look for the serial # to start with "47J"). Pre-9/74 models (serial # starts with "47H" or earlier) could also be upgraded to allow the power nozzle usage by changing the part of the motor assembly to one that allows this provision. He may be wrong, but he also tells me that the PN may have been an Electro-Hygiene exclusive feature at first (along with the deodorant chamber used on the 966, EH's version of the 901/931). Getting back to the model series at hand, I believe the last 931s were sold around December of 1984, the power nozzle in production at that time being model 597. Correct? ~Ben |
