The best part however!!!!

Is the salesman's bag that the vacuum was carried around in. Electrolux guru's, please help me out on this, you may be able to share more about the bag! One side of the bag has a cut away photo showing the "works", the belt, fans, motors, etc.

Marty thanks so much for the great pictures. You are going to love the Electrolux upright. I just got an Electrolux Discovery III from Roger when I was out in Tucson. I am really enjoying using this machine. It is so good to see Marty W again. I haven't seen him since we were in Portland. Hope that you can talk him into coming to the Convention in Sept. Terry

so did you get it NIB???

Post# 12229 , Reply# 9   4/8/2007 at 14:21 (6,221 days old) by luxg ()

No Kyle, the one Roger gave me wasn't NIB but it was in beautiful condition and looked like it had an easy life. We found in this past November at a thrift shop in Green Valley. Roger kept it for a few months and enjoyed it and then passed it on to me. I felt very lucky to get it.

My Lux Upright

Bought new in the box on Ebay. This one was the very first. I am posting here because Morgan just sent me the attachment converter and hose. It is not original to the machine but works like a charm. This one is special because it came out at the same time as the Lux Super J which I bought new. What a fabulous machine. The attachments went with the upright that was out at the time of the Silverado, but works. Morgan also sent me bags which you cannot get any more.

Strange tool converter there mate, we never had any cleaner that fitted like that in the UK, far as I'm aware.

Yeah, Fred,

I was gonna say, "Looks like you are putting your exercise machine to good use ... AS A HOSE HANGER!" But others beat me to it!

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!

The Expensive Hose Hanger

compactelectra's profile picture
Indeed, Charles, that is a very expensive exercise machine. One of a few that I had set up in an exercise room in California. If you can believe it, (and I am sure you can) I had a personal trainer come to the house when I lived in LA. All of that went out the window when I moved back to the Midwest. Charlie Watrous, Terry Lattz and Jeff Parker moved the room around and got rid of the treadmill and free weights. Of course, I didn't argue!

Lux hose converter

That is one of the strangest things I have ever seen! I mean, it works, but what a kludgy setup!!

In the overall scheme of things, for the time it was manufactured, it really wasn't that bad. No worse than the Kirby setup - probably better. And good suction. The vacuum itself for rug cleaning was pretty bulky, but it was Electrolux's first attempt at an upright. I haven't had any experience with the later ones, but not a bad first attempt.
