I was wondering, whats the best way to remove bag odors from Kirbys? Theres a Kirby Tradition (alongside a Classic III and a Heritage 84) at a local thrift shop and the bag smells absoluely terrible, and i want to know how to get rid of the nasty smell. Also, is $40.00 a good deal for a trad?

What I do is throw the outer bag in the washer, and then put some dryer cloths inside the inner bag and inside the outer bag.
And if it includes some of the attachments, I think $40 dollars is a pretty reasonable price.

Yep, pop the bags off, stick them in the washer, but turned inside out as not to damage the outside of the bag, and you can either dry on a low heat or hand them up somewhere warm to dry, then refit, and put a dryer sheet into the bag (between disposable and outer bag for disposable models, or in the sani-scraper pocked for shakeout models)... :)

And buy all three Kirbys there (see if you can get a lower-price deal on them)... :D

Baking soda will neutralise odours, but if you're buying a used vac, I'd still recommend washing the bag, you never know what they have picked up or where they have been stored... :)
