Hey guys, I went to a thrift shop today. Didn't come home with anything, but there were a few "almosts". The first was the Floormate.... it was only 24 dollars, and I've kind of been wanting one, but my kitchen is super small and I just don't have the space to store anything that isn't going to get used. It seemed to be in decent shape and I didn't think the price was too bad. The next thing was a green Simplicity canister. Had it had a power nozzle, it would have come home with me.... I don't remember the price, but it's a good looking vacuum... however it's only a straight suction machine (and was missing the attachments), despite the gas pump style handle. The other thing was the Royal upright, they had 2.... identical except in color to the light weight Hoover that they sold at Big Lots for a while... I don't know of the Hoover one had a headlight or not, but this one did not... they also don't have a cord and have to be use with an extension cord... they were only 16 dollars and ALMOST came home with me, but I don't know enough about them to know if they are any good or not.... if they are similar to Oreck, I don't need it! While I was there, after I had taken the picture, they also brought out a cheap blue dirt devil bagged upright with a broken handle release and missing handle cap and missing edge wedge.... awful machine... and the brown self propelled hoover (pre-windtunnel) from the 90s.... bad shape cosmetically... and 2 Bissell carpet cleaners.... those are junk though, I am looking for a used Hoover with Spin Scrub for a relative... no luck today though! The little blue canister was cute, but way too cheaply made. They wanted 28 dollars for the Oreck companion canister and just as I was declaring to my friend Larry that that was way too much for that junk, the guy who did the pricing was bring out more vacuums and heard me. He said he thought Orecks were a good name.... I told him I collect vacuums and Orecks had good advertising, but they weren't great and that vacuum was worth about half of what it was marked for if that..... he was really nice about it and took it well! Of course I wouldn't have said it so loudly if I'd known he was around! Of course the Hoover bagless upright doesn't even get honorable mention, and was even missing the dust cup lid.... it should have gone to the dumpster instead of the sales floor!

Here are the pics of the offerings today :o)

This is the same sewing machine one of mine (I have 2 of course)... but mine is green and in mint shape.... this one was pink and not in great shape... even missing the tension control knob. Made by Brother and it was the only sewing machine they had...
