All of the Miele S5's share the same motor (along with the S4 and S7 series), so there is no difference in suction power. The differences are the speed controls and the colours.

Here in Canada, Miele only sells the S4 and S5 machines with the dusting brush, upholstery brush, crevice tool and telescopic wand included in the box. From there we can customize whether the SEB 217, 228 or 236 powerhead is best for the individual customer, along with a choice of floor brush.

You would be hard pressed to find a better machine than the S5 series when coupled with either the SEB 228 or 236 powerhead.
